And before anyone tells me, yes I know I could still own guns here but I'm not going to bother going through the hassle. It's been many years since I got to do any shooting. Anyway do any of you folks have any large revolvers? Like Ruger Super Redhawk kinds of things? By far my favorite things to shoot both really huge and very small caliber revolvers. I couldn't possibly remember the name of the maker but my favorite gun ever was a .22 revolver that my father used to use when trapping in Upstate NY. Lots of fun and you could use it all day without getting worn out. _________________________

I occasionally carry the Sig, but I'm looking at getting a Glock 29 for carry duty. I never go anywhere without my Spyderco Harpy, though. And Redish, having shot both the Taurus PT1911 and a few Kimbers, I can tell you that there is functionally no difference. The Taurus was the equal of the Kimber in every way, minus $500 and a lot of range cachet.

There have been a lot of burglaries lately more so out in the county rather than in my little town due to the economy but one can never be too safe IMO. Mainly I just like having a gun in reach always. I once heard having an unloaded gun was like having a car with no gas in it ! And on the Taurus 1911 ? I have one and it's a great gun. Fun to shoot and a great buy ! My next purchase may be a Henry .22 rifle , a Makarov 9x18 pistol, an AK-47 .22 caliber or maybe even another 9 mm pistol of some sort. I have a bunch of shot guns to trade on one of these days. I go to the gun shop every day and the same people are usually there trading and wheeling and dealing. I've shot a Glock 29, and it has less recoil than the Colt Delta my friend brought to the range last week. Lower bore axis in the Glock helps to soak up some of the recoil.

It had been in storage for a while so required some cleaning but it polished up almost like new. I assume it was a police force or military issue at one time. The gunshop I go to [Mikes] in Tazewell Tn. is great. He has another one in Middlesboro Ky. also. His prices beat anyone I have ever seen and he takes trade ins at a good exchange. _________________________ I may not know arse but I know what I like !

But they sure as hell won't come out on top in a knife/tool/rock fight. I always enjoyed rock/paper/scissors as a child!

Shot the Hungarian PA 63 9MM Makarov [very good] the Walther P22 [excellent] the Ruger P95 9MM [excellent] the Heritage .45 LC revolver [excellent +] [just too expensive to shoot much] and the Romanian AK-47 [good but a little too rough and clunky for my tastes] A very good day all in all ! _________________________ I may not know arse but I know what I like !

I got it new in the box with a bayonet, scabbard,sling, oil can,3 mags and cleaning kit for 449 bucks about a year ago. They're going for close to 7 now with no extras ! _________________________ I may not know arse but I know what I like !
