Lennox definetly isn't one of the greats, more of an example of someone that size who was actually a boxer. I'll definetly concede that tyson was the most explosive fighter i've ever seen and looked like his defensive skills could be all-time good as he'd lose some of the inconsistency you'd expect any kid his age to show. The ability and talent to put together something that would have made the technical equal of the real brilliant fighters with that explosiveness nobody's come close to. After the first trainer, he was just too violent to lose for a few years, but he started to become less of a boxer and eventually someone whose skills in the ring regressed. when the other guy wasn't out cold after a few rounds, tyson panicked-this was his MO for a decade.

I don't think the 90's would have been his decade simply due to the reality that by 30, chemical help or not, everyone loses speed and explosiveness and that's what made tyson who he was. male bodies peak in terms of growth and utilization of fast-twitch muscle fibers around 25-26, and by the early 30's there's a signifigant decline.

tyson is actually, along with hagler, one of my favorite fighters and i said i could easily see him turn into a buzzsaw and end things in 2 rounds. He would have had to have had a real trainer to win a fight that went the distance, let alone avoid a tko with someone that size if they got away with using their size to lock him up and throw him around. lennox, if he was still standing after 3, is a million times harder to deal with than guys like michael spinks, who he's as good a pure boxer as but was dangerous to get within range of with that jab and could physically smother you and push you around the ring.
