Geez, what's he been dead now, like 4-6 years? I remember driving up I-91 through eastern Vermont when they annouced it on WEQX.  Not necessarily a big fan, but his tunes were unique.

I saw him at the Moonshadow Saloon in Atlanta circa '85. He played piano and sang that night. (As opposed to playing guitar or any of the other instruments he played). Awesome show.
I can't find Carmelita online. If you buy only one of his albums make it his first- "Warren Zevon"

Goddamn I have to leave the house immediately before the cops come. I just played through "Warren Zevon" really loud. Maybe TUP will post the contributors to that album. The guy had Lindsay Buckingham, Don Henley, Glenn Frey and a few more not to mention Waddy Wachtel on guitar.

Southern California in the 1970s was spitting out lyricists and songwriters like McDonalds spits out Big Macs. I challenge anyone to name one person in the music industry under the age of 40 today who can write lyrics that have 1/10th the substance of the likes of Zevon, Browne, and company.
