He is getting the respect he deserves.

Max hasn't gone anything new in years. He hasn't done anything worth watching for even longer. His scenes are so cookie-cutter you can almost set your watch by them. It's not a question of whether JM would hire him - I'm not sure his quality is good enough to meet minimum standards at any studio in porn today, and we're talking about a pretty poor field where the likes of Pat Myne and such get work as a director.

The modern anal/gonzo era began with Alex DeRenzy & Rosebud, not Max.

If you want to give credit to someone responsible for making the entire industry viable & making it possible to be what it is today go back to Hal Freeman (and Hal may deserve credit for beginning the Anal-Theme era).
