I just sent the complaint to Papa John's:

"Last week on Wednesday the October 7th of 2009 at around 7:45PM I went into the Papa John's location that is located at 213 W. 28th St. I was interested in ordering the plain slice of pizza for $0.99, because it was vividly advertised on the street. After I placed my order I was quoted $2.50 for the plain slice, I then told the cashier that it was being advertised for $0.99 just in front of the retail establishment. The cashier then told me that the $0.99 for a plain slice only applies from 10:30AM to 6:00PM and after 6:00PM it is sold for $2.50. I then expressed my opinion that the advertising is deceptive and that it does not has any copy of any limitations, exclusions or any special terms like "10:30AM to 6:00PM only". The cashier then told me that there is nothing that he can do and that it is what it is. I then left the location without any purchases. I strongly believe that this was the case of deceptive advertising, and that it might violate one of the NYC's consumer protection laws. I am seriously considering about making a complaint to the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs about this issue. Please contact me."
