Charin, himself, suggested "humanely" warehousing the man for the rest of his life; which demands that all of us give a portion of our income in taxes to support him for the rest of his life.
yes, and as i pointed out, killing the man requires us to give a lot more. this is the point i was trying to make. if you are, indeed, against the death penalty and are just trying to clarify the position, it seems worthwhile to note this.
Not true. Honesty demands I admit that I did not (and will not) read the article you attached. I have had too much to drink and am busy watching TV while I am writing this, so I cannot also read articles--maybe tomorrow. I disagree with your assertion, but even if I did agree with it, it is the difference between what *MAY* cost more and what is a definite certitude.

I was intrigued that Charin had the balls to stand up to those facts and state his opinion, and wanted to learn more.
again, you may call this "intellectual honesty," but to me it appears that you are discounting the position. you are framing it as his opinion flies in the face of the facts, that he is somehow brave for expressing this opinion when it has no grounding in reality. maybe i'm still misunderstanding you.
If you cannot see why defending this dirt bag's right to a long and comfortable life takes balls, I could never explain it to you.
Maybe I can be clearer tomorrow.
