Kerry's daughter is probably all neurotic about being ugly so Kerry's people get Ben to say a few nice things about her to get her spirits up. This gives Ben the opportunity to delude himself into thinking that he's "involved in politics" and at the same time give him more ammo to expel those gay accusations.
