If there were true Poles here, they've all gone.

The landlady's mom was born in Poland, but actually emigrated here from England years later. But, like Jerome Robbins family, they're Polish Jews.

The 2nd & 3rd generation people left here are mostly Italian with a splash of Cuban ... but like the Jews the Cubans are moving on, too.

The only person I've ever known from Wallington was a Polish guy from college. My sister found him cute.
