The Big 3 auto makers...

Do you mean the company killing union UAW/United Auto Workers (and it's hired congressional henchmen)? The big three have been small welfare states for over 40 years with those ridiculous unsustainable salaries and pensions for uneducated factory workers (even after retirement). The union/Dems don't even want to allow bankruptcy. They went to the well too many times and now they're still trying to get water from a stone.

While the largesse of the UAW is most certainly an albatross around the automakers collective necks let's not forget the shortsightedness of the auto executives in their decisions to focus almost solely on Hummers, SUV's, anything else that gets shitty fuel economy and generally a lineup of uninspiring automotive choices. Certainly not a "must have" in the whole bunch. Not having more than a twelve month vision of the future is condemning an entire industry.
