Newspaper article here... More also here... This has been a foodie item of quests from years past. What I had heard was that the switch from New Coke to Coke Classic in the 80s marked the move from refined sugar to HFCS.

It's true. I've had real sugar Coke that seems to sell around Passover. It comes with a yellow top while the regular (hfcs) Coke on sale comes with the white top. I think it disappears shortly after their festivities. It tastes better and feels fizzier.
