If the hypothetical person felt that their presence in the family had any other value aside from purely monetary, I would say, "no".

If this person can only think in monetary terms, then ask: how much would the other members of the family be willing to pay to have him back if he killed himself?

No. You'll die at some point anyway, they can get the $$ then. Money is a pathetic reason for suicide. Plus, you have to check those insurance policies and see if they even pay out for suicide.

I get off on the fact I am, even at this late juncture in my life and given my circumstances, STILL worth more alive than I will be when I croak. Making money is easy....holding onto money and making it grow is where most people fail miserably.
