I meant: Is there a distinctly Canadian car campany or was there one ever? I do not mean manufacturing for other North American companies.

So has there ever been a Canadian car maker? I am not a very good Canadian but I assume that most of our innovations would be in long distance shipping like trains or boats.

I was mostly wondering if Canadians felt any nationalistic pride in a Canadian car company.

I looked it up and all sorts of European, Asian and US cars have been assembled here. But is there or has there ever been a Canadian car company?
