My view on the matter has been expressed in the past. I don't care if people like it, or agree with it. That said...

Nigger is not a color. Sure, it's relation to the word "negro" (spanish for 'black') is obvious, but that meaning has changed so much over the past 50 years.

To me, it's a lifestyle - white, black, piss yellow, green or purple. It's how you act in public. If you drive a Mercedes & are roped in bling-bling; however are too lazy to work @ anything BUT Popeye's or KFC, live in a roach trap & make no effort to speak proper English,...that'd probably be a good start.

Dare I say I subscribe to a very loose Urban Dictionary version of the word. Numbers 4 & 15 (assuming they don't change?) are probably the best descriptions I can give in this world of Wiki. Lump me in with the likes of Sammura (a poster whom I know nothing about), but that just shows how ignorant people's comprehension of the current culture of the word is used. It often applies to colored folks (no different than spic, kike, or cracker), but that doesn't mean that all black people are niggers - such reasoning is ludicrous. Sadder is the fact there are 42 pages of varying opinions/definitions of the word. Sure, it may mean something else in Bama'lamer or Mizz'ippi, but those people are just plain ignorant to color, and have no room to speak in terms of slackjawed ignorance (especially when it comes to labor ethics). I don't see color, I see attitude.

Could I be more creative? Sure, but to most it would still be a racial slur and therefore less socially acceptable - spook, spearchucker, porch monkey, spoda. They're called hate words for good reason, because while as a person he could be the coolest guy on earth; his character is a worthless showboater who wears Big Ben around his fucking neck every time you see him on TV. That to me says, "Hey, look at me, I'm Flava Flav from Public Enemy. I have lots of money & I'm gonna let everyone know it." There's a word to define almost anything that one detests. For a lazy shithead who relishes in flashy toys, and has a need to show them off 24/7 (even if is in character), sure, I probably could have chosen a better term.

Let's go back to the corporate example (execs, shareholders, hedge fund investors). I prefer to call them scumbags, because they have little regard for the welfare of others, as long as they get their cut.

Sorry, but one word should not have that much power. If people didn't allow it to have such weight it would become meaningless.

That said as with most words or phrases it should be how you say it that determines a reaction.

Bishop, the word was used in a thread with the word "wigger" in the title. Since wigger = white nigger I'm not very shocked that the root of the word was also mentioned. Personally, I wouldn't have pulled the word out in that instance, but I don't use the word 'wigger' very often either. Just my two cents.
