I wish they would come back. Sunspots are good. Sunspots help me make high-frequency radio contacts all over the world. Propagation really gets a lot better on the higher bands, I can work a lot more DX with my puny antennas.

Sunspots come in 11 year cycles, and we are at a minimum right now. From the ARRL website:

Here's a graph of the sunspot data we have, even long ago folks noticed the spots, of course they didn't know about propagation of radio waves!



I'll be a lot more active, when the sunspots come back. Working Europe with 5 watts was easy, during the last cycle. So, now you know.

I'm not positive what your analysis proved but I think you are saying you have posted more interesting material in AWOP than have I. That may be true. At the same time it may be saying I and other users may be using Myspace or Facebook or God forbid, Twitter, to post this kind of thing directed at people with expressed interest instead of XPT.

Serious repercussions are rare. You pretty much have to tell the FCC to get fucked you are gonna do what you want to make them really come down on you. Ham radio is really pretty loosey goosey as long as you don't interfere with emergency services or the police or have a long history of thumbing your nose.
