I have long since given up trying to guess what might offend Blacks, Negros, African Americans, or whatever the PC term-of-the-day is. If I think it will bother a black person I like then I don't use the word. Otherwise I just don't care any more. Likewise Native Americans, etc.

Life is too short to spend the time to keep track of every possible group that might decide tomorrow than a given word from common speech is offensive.
