As a liberal who loves cars and does a lot of recreational driving, I want to see the Detroit auto makers come up with green sports cars, luxury cars, and practical trucks. Japanese auto makers are heading there. Government tax credits, etc. could make these cost effective.

This thing is like a moped, no one but urban commuters would want it. Like a 50cc scooter, the + is that you can park in a bike rack. But it is useless anywhere but in the city.

I guess you need to start with baby steps.
