I've been a VideoBox member since a few months after they started (early 2006 maybe?) after an ex-girlfriend of all people turned me onto them. I canceled my membership temporarily last month as I was going out of town for a few weeks. I logged in today to rejoin and the $9.95 a month is FUCKING GONE! Its now $15.96 for the Basic monthly plan and the Premium is almost $24?!? The website still has a ton of pics advertising the $9.95 monthly for some weird reason.


EVEN WORSE...they've become shills for the two most over-rated companies in Porndom today: Vivid and Evil Angel. Is this new or did I never notice it before? Videbox looks more like a "free tube site" with extra charges for "Premium Channels" than a video subscription site now. Now they're trying to jew an extra $7 for a few more "select" DVDs a month with blockbusters like "Sunny Loves Matt?"


I thought the $9.95 a month was decent, and was a good chance to see porn's own Godard, Brandon Iron, and his newest releases pretty soon after he hawked them on XPT. I kind of dug that them seemed to offer pretty good prices for content from what Brandon's said on here...

Yes, they Jumped the Shark. I've already written all my complaints on their blog, so I don't want to repeat them here. I'll just make 2 points. First, they didn't have the foresight to see if the companies they bill through could handle members going premium for a month then back to basic. Second, other companies are going to want the same deal, and pull their stuff from basic. Josh said in one blog entry that they are looking toward more premium channels. Video Box now has the feel of a whore that "upsells". My subscription ends the 17th.

In addition, from my preliminary search, VideosZ.com seems like the best alternative.

Concur, been with VideoZ for a while. While it's not the latest stuff out there, there certainly is a lot of it.

How is the download speed? VB was horrible.

How do they compare to Gamelink? Doesn't Vizzle work for one of these companies?

Gamelink seems to be Pay Per Minute or Buy single videos to download. VideoBox and VideosZ are a single payment and download as many scenes as you like. 5-6000 dvds available on each. I was paying VB monthly at $17.95 for unlimited DVD quality downloads. Longer subs, pay less per month. 4 or 5 updates a day. Most of the updates are about 2 years old, I think.

Guess I should have known they'd start fucking up after they nominated Darrah one of the best porn blogs. Made her life though.


The download speeds used to be really fast two to three years ago, but trying to directly download two files at a time took forever recently. I've never minded videos from three years ago; most porn released in the past four or five years pretty much looks the same in my opinion with few exceptions.

Hmmmn...this is making me wonder if Darrah really is in the industry somehow. Maybe she works for Videobox?
