Meet Karen "Dandy" Tandy, the Bush Admin's head of the D.E.A. Karen's gone now, but Obama has not named her replacement yet. But while in office, Karen supervised a DEA effort to seriously crack down on Prescription Drug Abuse, prosecuting doctors alla cross the land who the DEA felt were overprescribing painkillers, especially Oxycontin and any drug containing OXYCODONE. Over the last several years, The DEA reduced the national quota of Thebaine (the alkaloid from which Oxycodone is produced) which in turn curtailed the national inventory of all products containing Oxycodone (like Oxycontin and even Percocet!) Patients who use OXY to control their pain have had many anxious months these past couple years because the pharmacies have been out of stock. And thanks to Miss Tandy's Gestapo tactics, doctors are once again afraid to prescribe adequate pain killers for those who truly need them.

And all the while the DEA has been nailing doctors and patients, Meth labs and Mexican Meth gangs have sprung up all over the southern and western United states, the Mexican Drug cartels are poised to cause a level of Anarchy in a whole bunch of cities and towns across the southwestern swath of the country (and elsewhere); and the level and purity of other drugs like Coke and Heroin has not been significantly impacted on her watch. What is wrong with this situation, huh? Gahhh I hate Republicans now.....
