okay so what the fuck is up with people who try to do multiple transactions at the ATM and they stare at the thing for like 10 seconds between pushing buttons like omg come onnnnnnnnnnn! text your fucking bank account for your balance! and who needs a receipt!!

I use them for scrap paper. Also I am one of those people who stares at the machine for seconds at a time. Wanna know why? Because there is a difference between me and the person waiting behind me, and that difference is that I don't care about them.

I don't mind waiting to use the machine. What I do mind is when I am standing there with my card out waiting for some idiot to fumble with their wallet.

I'm not sure what your bank machines are like but, no shit, we have machines that still use bank books. I can't find a good image of this but it's a passport shaped little book that you can insert into a ATM when you are banking and it'll record all your transactions in it. I remember them from when I was younger and I am pretty sure only old folks use them. Also I can pay my bills at the machine.

^^^ Japanese ATM machines have a passbook option, at least the ones that take a foreign ATM card. Which would be either at the Post Office or a 7-11. I haven't seen an American ATM that has one.

I'm pretty sure they are being phased out, like a legacy thing. I have had a few bank accounts here and never been offered one. Seems like sensitive info to be carrying when I can use online banking instead.

To put it in perspective I found it nearly impossible to find a picture of one.

I have a habit of losing ATM cards so next time I need a replacement I'll try to get a bank book.

I do remember those...it's a pretty cool service to offer actually. I can never keep a check register filled out longer than a week or two, usually I check all my statements from my accounts online or via text. I have two accounts through b of a and one through chase. Idk why I even bother with b of a, they never give me my rewards for shopping online or keep the change and they charge me if I go inside to a teller. That pisses me off too grrrrr

It is a cool service, but not for someone who bitches about people wanting receipts.

Everytime I go to the bank I steal a handful of pens yet whenever I need a pen I can never find one. Somewhere in my place there has to be a stash of like a thousand pens but fuck all if I can find them.

I don't know if anyone else much gets them but phone calls from an "unknown" number or toll free number. They almost always are asking for donations. I quit answering them years ago but still get the fuckers even though I'm on the do not call list.

I keep getting calls to my fax line (no I don't know why I have a fax number)from someone who shows on caller id as "Cactus Bill" and the number is always busy.

I think it's some kind of auto-dialer but normally when I search for that kind of stuff someone will have reported the number somewhere. Cactus Bill may only be calling me.

I have answered and it's beeping but not the same pitch I remember with fax machines. I am tempted to cannibalize a fax modem from an old PC and see if I'm really getting faxed.

Oh and BDM, about a half hour ago I got a call from 000-0000. I assume it was my phone company but I would LOVE to find out how to make my number appear like that. No area code (we have 10 digit dialing) no prefix, it's totally bewildering.

Happened this morning, beginning about 4:30. After about the third time I shook her and said kindly, "Um.. your alarm. I think you need to wake up." She had the nerve to say, "Nah.. I have another 5 minutes."

This routine continues a few more times while I'm now wide awake and staring at the ceiling in disbelief. Alarm goes off again and she says, "I'm not going in today." I say "Yes you are.", hinting that she's not kicking it here. I'm hoping she's pickin up what I'm putin down, but she falls back asleep.

The alarm goes off again, and I leave my own fucking bed for the living room. She asks where I'm going. I say nothing. It's 5:23 and I don't have to work today. She gets up 10 minutes later, exits my room, asks where she put her pants, gets dressed, looks for a hug goodbye, doesn't get one, says "what, too early?" and leaves. Oblivious.

That shit's just rude.

Shoulda turned the alarm completely off, fucked her and went back to sleep. Let her get her own skanky ass up to go to work.

They go to a "doctor" who lays hands on them and checks their frequencies and diagnoses them for everything from gall bladder trouble to hormonal imbalances.
