George Clooney: The Other White Meat(like Product)

When it comes to PETA, George Clooney is sweating the small stuff. Which, really, was what started the problem in the first place.

After coming into possession of a gym towel soaked in the Oscar winner's sweat, the animal rights crusaders have penned a letter to the actor asking for permission to have PETA harvest his salty secretions to create—no joke—a Clooney-flavored line of tofu.

"The technology actually exists to take your perspiration and make it into George Clooney-flavored tofu (CloFu)," writes PETA. "Of course, your fans would swoon at the idea of eating CloFu."

The group even quotes a researcher, who says, "If you use a sample of human perspiration, it is 'no different than making artificial chicken flavor for instant gravy.' "

Except for the fact that, bean curd texture aside, it's proving to be a lot harder to swallow.

"As a mammal, I'm offended," says Clooney in response.

Not that PETA is easily deterred. The organization has already offered up serving suggestions for all your would-be CloFu needs.

"Cheese-scented CloFu could be used as pizza topping and in lasagna…CloFu will help people be healthier and more environmentally friendly and will spare animals from being killed for the table."

The letter, signed by PETA president Ingrid E. Newkirk, ends on an optimistic note.

"We hope this idea meets with your approval."

Something tells us they may not want to rush into production just yet.

I serve veggie snacks when I host the guys for cards. They love veggie Sloppy Joes. They like TVP, they gobbled up the Morningstar buffalo wings, which are nothing like chicken. They like Morningstar's corn dogs, too. Nori rolls, no. Nuts, chips, veggie tray, yeah, OK. They liked my chili, but it got on the cards. But I better have the Sloppy Joes, they request that. If I tried tofu anything, without disguising it as something else, I'd have leftovers.

I'm already not a fan of tofu (it's a processed food and not very versatile. not into faux meat veg cooking), but sweat in tofu? COUNT ME OUT.

And yes I'm raw vegan and wear fur and leather. I ain't about to try to be a Peta spokesmodel anytime soon. My diet is mostly for health reasons, but at least I'm helping to reverse land shortage by not eating animals even if I could do better by not wearing them as well. Not saying Peta is bad. Just saying my mindset/reason for being vegan wouldn't mesh with their mission.

I realize these guys are not to be taken seriously. Just wanted to post the link because I like this stuff and I remember the PETA episode being good.

PETA was a good organization a long time ago back when Betty White was the only celebrity connected with them. They were interested in spaying/neutering your pets and being nice to all animals in general. Then they got hijacked by the lunatic fringe that want to give voting rights and other such nonsense to animals.
They should all be taken out back and shot. Or at least crammed into cattle cars and sent to some sort of camp.

PETA is one of the dumbest groups of people you will ever find. Sad, lonely people that love animals because they harbor resentment toward regular people that are happy not being the center of attention. If you are the one that dumps paint on a person wearing fur, everyone at the next Pleather and Lace Social probably genuflects during your entrance.

Processed foods are things like Cheeze Whiz. Tofu has been made for centuries and is about as unprocessed as foods come.

I always notice when losers try to misuse a brand name to make themselves appear more successful than they really are. For example, have you ever met someone with a cheap bottom of the line Mercedes Kompressor who always talks about his "Mercedes" and how much he loves Mercedes cars. The Kompressor model was introduced for low-paid phonies who want their "I drive a Mercedes" line to not be a lie. Another example, do you know someone (maybe Mark "the groundhog" Spiegler) who buys used two-year-old models and then tries to pretend he bought the cars new?

Spiegler told me he bought his car used. The guy makes no bones about being frugal.
