Northrup I see your point but the oil spill is far different from Katrina. I have a hard time faulting Bush or any POTUS for not allowing foreign troops/volunteers on our soil to clean up a mess. This oil business is not rocket science- it's petro science and water purification. And it isn't on US soil. I say bring the best technology to bear on this situation and let BP pay.

In some ways I understand BP's reticence to ask for help from the US or anyone, because this cleanup process will be financially abused, and terribly. But at 70 days and counting you gotta stop the oil.

They should have had pre-qualified contractors, globally, who can bring the best techniques to any forseeable situation. And this situation was foreseeable.
