Ahmajad (too much trouble to spell it correctly) used the nuclear Iran issue to gather support based on nationalism - pride in their country. The only reason we don't want them to have it is the same reason we passed laws in the 1800's trying to prevent the Indians from getting guns. We wanted to be able to kick their ass more easily. Nuclear energy is very popular in Iran. How's it going to look when the guy who's said it's unacceptable to the point of military force for Iran to power themselves cheaply using their own technology and be able to defend themselves with modern weapons backs one of the candidates?
