Right, it was a lot harder for the stupid, undisciplined (drink?) and untalented before mooching became institutionalized. The left did great job of subverting our founding principiles.

I guess the real Americans (descendents of the original English colonists) became too lax. They let in too many immigrants from places where foreign collectivist philosophies prevail.
