People are filing BK for many reasons. Sure, lack of insurance is one of them. But other more obvious reasons would be loss of income or financial irresponsibility. A majority of the BK's now are people that are just walking away from their financial obligations because it's easier.

A couple years back all my neighbors were doing multiple refi's as their home prices went through the roof. They weren't socking money away for their kids college, they were leasing Bentley's and yachts, charging $50k a month on their black cards - that sort of shit. A vast majority of these fuckers are now whining to me that if they can't do a short sale, they'll be 'forced' into BK too. These are the same ass-wipes that were giving me shit for driving a perfectly good 2 year old ML500 instead of 'taking out some equity and upgrading.'

I say fuck them and any idiot that didn't buy health insurance and was too stupid to 'pull a mexican' and get free health services at the clinic or county hospital. Health coverage isn't a right. Want health insurance? Make money and buy it or go to work for an employer that will subsidize it.
