There's a myth in the black community that blacks don't float because they have heavier bones. Many are too terrified to try swiming lessons.
Maybe there was something to this theory all along. Those soul brothers probably sank like rocks.

I would bet more on hypothermia, if they were wearing life jackets like the survivor said they were. The water was only in the low 60s, add in wind and they wouldn't last long being soaking wet.

I heard it was 36 hrs before they found the survivor so yes, hypothermia is the likely cause of death. The guys were nuts to go out on a 21 ft. boat under small craft advisories.

Sad story ! The basketball coach and his young son at the college I attended back in the day was lost at sea under the same circumstances. Not smart at all.

I've been following the story for the last few days, it definitely sucks. The boat they had was a nice boat, not a piece of shit, but way to small to be out that far and in rough weather. Poor bastards.
And...they were anchored...in rough seas. My God the seamanship in this situation is fucking horrible. Small boat, small craft advisories, drop the anchor...
Like a flight instructor said when John Kennedy crashed...I wish he'd survived- so he could be tried for murder.
Some tragedies can't be called an accident. This one was totally avoidable.
