Hi, I am curious what it takes to be behind the camera in the porn industry. I'm a 25 year old director, and with financial storm clouds brewing, this seems like an ideal job. I am multi skilled, and talented as a director, editor, motion graphics artist, photographer, writer, 2d/3d animator, and production designer. I have frequently watched porn and thought, "I could do that better." I just don't know where to start.

Spikey you've come to the right place. There are many porn vets on this board that can help you. I have been in porn since 2000 and I've directed over 500 films. The first thing you need to do is decide what you want to do that makes you different. Then capitalize on that unique gift for all the world to see.

The unfortunate truth is that you'll have to start in gay porn. Everybody does it. It's the only way to break into the business. I suggest you start sucking cock immediately because if you aren't any good at it, nobody will hire you. This might sound tough for you but trust me. If you don't start sucking cock and taking it up the poop chute nobody is going to take you seriously. Film 5 or 10 scenes of you blowing guys and taking loads and send those videos to Jeff Steward and Tony Malice at JM Productions. If they like what they see they'll sign you to an exclusive contract.

Good luck with your new career.
