I'm irked that this is a crime at all. I can't count the number of times and ways I have suggested to internet people that they die.

Where would the line be drawn in such things when the concept of personal responsibility doesn't seem to exist.

If I while slaughtering someone in a game of Starcraft (for instance) and I spend some time graphically describing the untidy suicide I want them to commit then they go and do it where does video game trash talk become a crime?

As for the family I'm sorry for their loss and would like to remind them that the internet is not the real world. What the fuck? Is it seriously still news to people that not everyone on the internet is who they claim to be?
