Friends, we spend a lot of time joking around on here, and it saddens me that this couldn't just be one of those times, for I've learned that forum regular LouCypher passed away last night, after a long bout with some personal matters. I got the news from a mutual friend, then called the last number I had for him which was answered by someone able to confirm the news, but they sounded distraught so I stopped short of pressing for details. I'll try to find out more in a few days once things have settled down.
The man was a force around here. He was happy enough just showing up to toss the ball around, but when he swung, he swung for the fences. He spoke in a language all his own, and damned if you didn't get it. We'd become fairly close in the last few months, and spoke often, but I'd begun to sense there was something deeper - something troubling - underneath the laughter. We'll never know what those final moments must have been like for him, as his light grew dim, and ceased transmitting.
We can take some small comfort in knowing he's at peace now, somewhere out there on the open seas, among white-tipped waves that blink and sparkle, like waves goodbye.
Gone, but never forgotten.

I really hope this is a sick joke. Lou grew to be one of my favorite posters. I even found his l33t speak and quick vernacular chocked with abbreviations endearing. He was very impatient and his posts hit like bullets. I sent him a PM two days ago and was wondering why he didn't answer with godspeed like he usually does, especially one about his beloved Audi. Now I know. R.I.P. Lou.

I'm extremely saddened to hear this. We liked eachother in our own sick and twisted way. Really, really, twisted. I feel as if I lost my best pen pal or the guy who wrote my favorite newspaper column has passed away. Whatever is on his mind wont be there for me to read, trash, laugh at, or question the true meaning of.... I wont have someone to tell me "I like the Ted thing". Or that person that I can, as Lou once said, "connect on a very primal level" with... Part of me feels there's still a chance it's a joke perhaps the internet just went out in his neck of the woods or he lost his account/password or EVEN "Loucypher" internet persona died and his shell is still alive, meaning once he hits his head again coming out of the car, there's still a chance of him coming back. Wishful thinking. I'll miss you, you son of a bitch, I hope you and Ted are now together bludgeoning and assraping whores. It's not necrophilia if you too are dead. See you soon, but sadly, not soon enough... That might have sounded a little cruel but I know he would have loved it.

Lou sent me a creepy PM when I first got here and called me a 'fish'. He also chewed me out for being too stupid to use a computer, but after a month or so he started to come around. i got sneaky messages from him about pranks and schemes, but also stuff about his kid and hockey. He also gave me some useful advice about who to mix it up with and who he thought the best posters were here (I'll never tell).
I will miss him terribly...

My exact thoughts about LouC when I joined here, until I began noticing a layer of humor that existed in the spaces between his words- there in the implications and sarcasm, that cut like shards of glass. Behind the scenes he was actually very positive and nurturing. Sometimes he'd send me a PM to compliment a post I'd made, often when it didn't merit one. I found myself wondering if he wasn't just cheering me on as I rounded the last turn in some special olympics scenario.
People often remark about the XPT "greats" of years gone by, seeming to forget there are still some that walk among. Guys like Stevie, blah2000, paperchase, Panzer- the list goes on. Seriously, I've had more laughs from Lou's posts than any trip into the XPT archives. Sadly, the only place to see Lou's posts now is the archives.

I am really saddened by the news that Lou is indeed alive. All I can say to console the grief stricken is that someday he will in fact be dead. We can only pray that day will be sooner rather then later. If anybody will be so kind as to send me Lou's name and address I'll be happy to visit him and make sure that his death is slow and painful.
Only then can the mournful be given some relief from their pain. Until then we will have to console ourselves with the knowledge that Lou is a fat, ugly, stupid, gay, retarded, monosyllabic, incoherent, sexless loser that will never satisfy a woman.

Ah fuck....the apple ones are the most awesome things to eat when you have had a couple bongs of Northern California Pot. The problem with Chocolate Cakey-things is that they make pot breath EVEN worse on chicks (I dont have that problem cuz I NEVER have bad breath), and they stain teeth and get stuck in corners of the mouth and on the roof. Fruit Pies taste pleasant, and are innocuous when it comes to sex.
