Stein valley is pretty historic and ancient. Its pristine. untouched. The last remaining watershed. And Lots of rock paintings and stuff.

I've got four state parks within 35 miles of where I live. I use at least one of my days off every week to hit the trails at one or more of them. I won't bring out the camping gear until May or June though. I'd be waking up with frost on my balls if I went any sooner.

Ye my brother used to live in port alberni. We like weigh west in tofino.

My dad lives in victoria so i get out there too.

And my uncle lives in nanaimo.

The only hiking I do is to get far enough away from the road to hide the bodies.

Those pics look sic man. I haven't been camping or hiking in ages. I used to go out in -30 when I was a teenager. As long as we were outside making fires and doing stupid shit it was all good.

My dog and I do a ton of day hiking, up to 10 miles. Actually, around here we are blessed with some decent trails, and all the parks are free for hiking. I also backpack, the dog even has a pack. There are some decent backpacking trails in southern Ohio, the Appalachian foothills. Longest we have been out is 5 days/4 nights.

Now, I'm spoiled by the RV. But, we day hike all the time. Got to spend a month in the Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia last summer, hiked almost every day, it was Almost Heaven.
