You just don't get those when people pose for the photos, and the photographer knows what they are doing.

That's the "dynamic skin softener" from the Niks Color Efex 3.0 that I just bought. I'm a little addicted to it-- it looks great on my photos with soft, even light, but with on camera amateur flash it can look more airbrushed than I'd like-- even on the lowest setting (which it is). I photoshop almost all my photos-- it's the perfectionist in me.



It's not horrible or anything, just visually apparent compared to the quaint noisiness of the average photographer's candids. If anything, i'd say they look 'Randall-ized', which is a feat considering they look to be taken on the go, outside of a studio.
