On a related note, (you might not have the same nostalgia bout this as I have because I'm a bit younger than you) I recently went back and watched all of "The Adventures of Pete & Pete" (1993) .

I have not seen a show capture those weird day dreams and kid thoughts so well. Highly recommended.
