It's okay. Whenever a joke is made about my pets I get tons of PMs from posters who like pictures of cute animals. It is okay with me to make fun, they are, after all quite silly little animals.
You wouldn't believe the amount of kind and supportive comments I have gotten from XPT folks in regards to the death of a pet. What I mean to say is that you haven't got to defend me, though I appreciate where you're coming from. My posts about my morose feelings due to the death of my youngest one have not gone unnoticed by others.
Some people don't feel how strong the impact of a pet death feels. I ignore them.

It's new to me but I'll try to track it down, I haven't seen anything that Jim Henson worked on that I didn't enjoy. Clip from the Riverbottom Nightmare Band.If you can find it another great little known gem from Henson's early career was The Cube (1969).

The shit was more tongue-in-cheek back then which made it more subversive, but only the smart kids picked up on it but they were smart enough to be in on the joke and not take things literally. Now, everything just hits you over the head with obviousness. The dumb kids pick up on it, take it literally, and do dumb stuff.

On a related note, (you might not have the same nostalgia bout this as I have because I'm a bit younger than you) I recently went back and watched all of "The Adventures of Pete & Pete" (1993) . I have not seen a show capture those weird day dreams and kid thoughts so well. Highly recommended.

I was amazed how much of the show was still etched in my brain, I turned 11 in 1993 and I can't remember anything about being a teen and most of my adult life but for whatever reason I still remembered major plot points in this show.

Such as promiscuity, teen pregnancy, and one-in-hole all-at-once. Not excluding, lesbianism, depression, ADD, (Attention Demanding Diss'Order.) and the horrible act of waiting tables or fruit picking. Drugs suddenly took the backseat in the list of "don't do's". I was 6/7 yrs old in 93 seems like eons ago. I loved Nickelodeon, does anyone remember "Are you afraid of the dark"?

Nostalgia Critic does some great reviews of the old Nick shows. Including Are you afraid...?
I had forgotten how fucking weird Ren and Stimpy was.
I just linked to his main review page, I'm sure you can find Nickcoms and Nicktoons. His other reviews are likely to dredge up some old memories as well, especially if you are in your 20s.
