You forgot cat food which always comes right after corn chips . I agree that hollywood is stale at the moment but I do not want to see a rash of " independent" artsy fartsy movies being made either. As far as sequels go, I like many of them and I am happy to let the market sort it out, if these sequels suck and no one goes to #2 then #3 probably won't be made at all. The sequel itself is not the problem IMO rather it is the nature of some of these sequels- The Batman franchise for example- started well but went down hill after becoming to silly- had they stayed with the Dark Knight mythos than it would have kept going strong. In other words make better sequel not less sequels.
