I'm pretty sure that pink Super-Man outfit is sitting in Max's creepy closet right now next to the malfunctioning Max-Bot.

How much did Max spend on his defense? $300K? $500K? MORE?
Jeffrey Douglas' track record isn't that good; can *anyone* point to his last legal victory? I would have gone with a local Florida attorney on the younger side, maybe a few years out of law school. Between Douglas, Sirkin and that bloated creep Mark Kernes sitting in the court room it must have looked like a gathering of old pedophiles; not really the first impression you want to give a jury dealing with material like Max's.
He should have made a cut with his past representation and gone with someone new and kept the attorneys to a minimum; the arguments and appeals were all over the place chasing five different confusing legal angles. Hell, even someone with little experience with obscenity (how many obscenity cases do you think that Tampa court deals with?) could have dealt with it and maybe come up with a new angle more receptive to a local jury.
Someone similar to Lawrence Walters would have been better; someone local to Florida, nice-looking and photogenic enough to deal with the media to raise the heat on the court. I see Walters all the time on the O'Reilly Factor and at least seems to appeal to the conservative types I'm sure the jury was stocked with...can you say the same about Max's representation?

Hell, retaining someone local would have saved tens of thousands in travel costs. Did Jeffrey Douglas charge $350 an hour as he sat on a 757 First Class to Florida every time?

He should have gone with someone willing to gamble and make their legal name with a case like this, not a boat load of fucking money.
