Oh yeah (can't believe I didn't remember this earlier): If you've seen Boogie Nights, see the John Holmes doc Wadd. You'll see how Anderson lifted exact dialogue and scenes from the original Holmes doc Exhausted . I read a great interview with a person who did not want to be identified on how the original doc makers were super-pissed at Anderson.
I guess some porn 'insiders' were bad-mouthing Boogie Nights for its lack of authenticity, and PT countered with " What the fuck are you talking about? I lifted stuff shot-for-shot from Exhausted. " They were gonna sue, but all the folks involved in the original are now Hollywood successes and don't wanna be ID'd.
The scene with Bob Chinn where Holmes is bragging about blocking his own scenes is worth it by itself....
