A rough cut of Steven Soderbergh's The Girlfriend Experience just premiered at Sundance: http://hollywood-elsewhere.com/2009/01/girlfriend_expe.phpThe least interesting thing about this is that Sasha Grey plays the lead $10k per night whore - it's not like it's a huge stretch for her, since she hooked while her wart-infested butthole was on the mend. It was a really rough cut, but the movie is good. Kinda Curb the Enthusiasm-ish in that the 'actors' are given the general ideas of the scenes, then run with it. I liked the movie, and SS had a good Q&A afterward. You can tel he put a lot into the flick. I'm looking forward to the finished product.

Unfortunately he's still alive but can't come back to the United States which he's fought for. He still gets the assholes in Hollywood to fly out to Europe to be in his movies. And he's actually back in the news again this week.

Seriously though he can get back into the U.S. easy. Just borrow Christoph's passport for a while and skate in on his creds, enjoy himself a week of all-he-can-eat preteen buffet courtesy of craigslist junior erotic services, then roll out the bathroom window of the motel room at the first squeak of a crown vic brake in the parking lot - and high tail it back to LAX in a competent cab.
