1st off, Sorry this post is so long....but sometimes I just need to vent & I found this post to be semi-cleansing.

Just a thought.....maybe if the "little boy" (he writes off being an alcoholic into his 40s, though he's in denile about that word, & only accepts the symptoms as being factual, as being "youthful indiscretions," so I assume he still saw himself as being a youth based on his actions) would have taken the job seriously from day one, and wouldn't have been on vacation seemingly in perpetuity (yea, I know you can work while on vacation....but ya know....please), he could have racked up 8 years without an attack on U.S. Soil....though we all know he was in charge when we had the worst attack on U.S. Soil. So we know when they really planned an attack...."W" was 0-1 in keeping us safe. I'm just glad he will not be President on December 21, 2012. Given that he claims to be an "Evangelical" Christian, and he and most of those whack jobs genuinely believe the end of days are upon us, God only knows what he would have done on that date once he got wind of the Maya Calendar, & what some whack jobs believe is significant about that date. My bet is he would have launched pre-emptive nuclear (though he wouldn't have been able to pronounce it) strikes on Russia, China, and Israel (remember Evangelicals believe the Jews must and will die in the end of days) so to set "God's Will" in motion & launch the end of days in their due course. That probably wouldn't have happened really (he would have been stopped hopefully by someone with balls had he even tried it), but am I the only person that was more than a bit uneasy with the fact that the leader of the free world (with access to such devistating WMDs) was an "Evangelical" who believe the end of the world is upon us & they are doing God's will with everything they do (that God even selected him to be President)? I hope not.

Kind of hard to prove a negative. There really isn't any proof that they stopped a serious threat from taking place. Remember, those Islamic Fundementalist Organizations do not have unlimited resources & can't strike wherever and whenever. Fact remains, in the one very serious threat that took place during his Administration.....he failed miserably.....then retaliated not against the nation that funded and provided the men that attacked us (his families bed buddies in Saudi Arabia), but Afghanistan & Iraq (who wasn't even involved AT ALL), costing us thousands more U.S. lives (more than 9/11), which was just another tax on the poor basically. Funny the "cowboy" didn't have the guts to go after the Saudis though, as there was a direct link there....so much for keeping us safe.
If anyone can present me with irrefutable evidence that a large scale attack (on the scale of 9/11) was averted during his Presidency, I'll give credit where credit is due. However, such evidence is hanging out somewhere with Saddam's WMDs, because it doesn't exist. Trust me, if it did, "W" and the boys would have tooted that horn for all to hear. They never did....just like they couldn't catch Osama (and God knows he sticks out like a sore thumb over there....but I think he's been dead & we had to keep him "alive" as a face of evil, coupled with the facts that Al-Qaeda needed to keep him alive for the same reasons & we never got his corpse as a trophy), though I was waiting with anticipation for them to cart out his corpse last Monday....but it never happened.

My final thoughts are, if there is any Karma left in the world, I hope George has plenty of hunting trips planned with his pal Dick Cheney. Given George's drinking (choked on a pretzel....yea my ass...I read from many a reliable source that John's Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore would have a different spin on the matter.....not to mention the possiblity that is suffering from Korsakoff's Syndrome....brought on by his years of drinking...and which would explain so much), and Dick's hunting proficiency (proven in the past), that would certainly be poetic justice. I can just picture it now....a sloshed George in his cammo (to show what a soldier he is and always was) & his novelty deer antler hat running around the woods in a drunken stagger & Cheney with his shoot 1st, ask questions later hunting method....what happens next? Who knows? One can dream though....right?

All joking aside, I wouldn't want to be him for a second. I am a real man & I have a conscience. I care how people as a whole view me and what their opinions are of me. I care about my record & what I accomplished & where I failed. I can not imagine what it must be like to be him, and have to deal with the fact that so many of his fellow Americans genuinely HATE HIS GUTS (not just dislike him). I can not imagine what it must be like to be him (assuming he is not in denial....as I have never had to deal with denial personally), and facing the fact that most historians view his Presidency as a major failure, and view him as one of the, if not the, worst President of all time (given that we had Buchanan, Hoover, etc., that's saying something). I can not imagine what it must be like to be him, and having to realize that his Presidency was yet another failure in the long list of failures in his life. To be perfectly honest, if I were him, though with my personality and conscience, I can not imagine I would be able to live with myself (literally) for the rest of my days. Especially, if he started hitting the bottle hard again. I doubt history will be kind to George & his post-presidency life will be as seemingly pathetic as was his pre-presidency life. Couple that with rumors that Laura (and they don't really look that close these days) plans on leaving him. Man, am I ever glad I'm not him. I wonder if his "Christian" buddies will be there for him when times are darkest. I doubt it....they tend to throw you under the bus when times are tough. If one forgets all that he did....one almost genuinely feels sorry for him.

George, when you get a chance, tell the mother of a service man or woman who lost their lives fighting a bullshit war for you (and there are parents of servicemen and servicemen who died who now view the war as bullshit and now resent losing their loved ones for an unjust cause) how well you kept Americans safe, when you were too much of a coward to serve your country (that you love so much that you always wear a flag lapel pin) in a war setting at a time of war.

Tell the people in New Orleans how well you kept them safe during Katrina (and to have the balls to call that a success in his last days in office), and in the days after. You showed what a great leader you were when you flew over & looked down for a photo-op enroute to D.C. Hell even Lyndon Johnson was right there on the ground in NOLA in blackout conditions (after Kenendy was assassinated...so safety and security were serious issues) right after Hurricane Betsy in '65. But then again, some people have balls and some don't. Hell even Cuba can get supplies to people and get them to safe ground following a hurricane (several years post 9/11...quite a reflection of how prepared they were to keep us safe).

All joking aside (and I realize some posts on here are likely joking), if there ever was such a thing as retro-active abortions, I would pick Hitler as the 1st person to be retro-actively aborted. But, given that I am restricted to modern people to judge fairly (though Hitler is not a contemporary of mine), I believe Bush would be in my top 10! Remembering how he professed to be so anti-abortion (though there is a rumor and evidence supporting that his then 15 year old girlfriend had one in 1970), just imagine how much we would likely be better off today had Barbara done just that!

But George never missed a photo op.....just see George showing off that he could read (at the elementary school level anyway) to the little black students (I'm sure the black kids weren't being exploited for photo op purposes) after the attacks on 9/11. George barely missed a beat when he got word (though he looked like a deer in the headlights) of the attacks. Like any other responsible leader, he went back to reading to the kids.

Given how poorly he did in keeping us safe in times of domestic crises, even years following 9/11.....does anyone really believe those same schmucks were somehow able to keep us safe from a genuine and specific foreign threat to domestic soil? I doubt it.

George, when you try to sell your obviously ghost written autobiography (remember "George don't read"), remember to include how you find the capacity to sleep at night.

In closing, and to coin a phrase once made famous by "W" himself (to then FEMA Director Brown), "Bushie, you did a heck of a job!"

Again, sorry this is so long....but sometimes I just need to vent & I found this post to be semi-cleansing. I genuinely care about my country & all of it's people. I just sometimes wish I was not as educated as I am & as aware of what is really happening around us. I sometimes wish that I could just sit back and get my opinions and views spoon fed to me by Rush, Sean, Bill, and Fox News (though they do it as entertainment & some people take it as fact). But then, in between being genuinely saddened about what has become of my once great nation, I am glad that I am aware and educated & wish the rest of my fellow Americans (mainly my fellow white Americans, that are either in denial...or are truly that blind) would be also. Remember, there is power in being educated and being aware of what is going on around you. Why do you think Rush and the like are always attacking our education system, and higher education in particular? They want to keep as many people as they can as mindless drones. Get you information from many sources & evaluate the sources for any biases. But by all means....make up your minds for yourselves. Otherwise.....we might someday end up with another putz for 8 years, and another bullshit war that virtually no one objected to at the time it was initiated.
