I work seasonally so I've claimed for the last ten years, except for the two seasons I was self-employed and inelligible. The office here handles EI and welfare, but the civies who work there can't distinguish between the two and assume everyone who walks through the door is looking for a handout. It can be worthwhile if you work under the table, though.
