I just don't see any discernable or verifiable impact on sales...if Pornstar A looks hot at Company B's party promoting Movie C, it's just as likely that the fanboy will buy Movie E from Company D instead, especially if it's more of his niche or fetish.
Given that most of the attendees will already be involved in the industry to some degree, how many additional copies of a movie do studios expect to shift by putting on these shindigs? 
The main purpose of these events is to thank the studios for their continued support of using AEBN for their VOD.
There is no cost to the studio involved, and they are always a fun time for everyone.
