Are all these parties really worth the effort and expenditure? Sure, some site may run pictures, but it will soon be swallowed up in the mass of other launch parties and quickly forgotten.

I just don't see any discernable or verifiable impact on sales...if Pornstar A looks hot at Company B's party promoting Movie C, it's just as likely that the fanboy will buy Movie E from Company D instead, especially if it's more of his niche or fetish.

Given that most of the attendees will already be involved in the industry to some degree, how many additional copies of a movie do studios expect to shift by putting on these shindigs?
