What is the difference between between 'All-Sex' and 'Gonzo' exactly? I thought the whole point of Gonzo was that it was All-Sex, i.e., the sex scenes are not punctuated by dialogue or plot sequences, as you would expect in a Feature. Do AVN adhere to the strictest definition of Gonzo, wherein the director/auteur is allowed to break the 'fourth wall' and interact verbally (and indeed, sometimes physically) with the performers? This is the only possible distinction I can think of.

I'm WAY less surprised than you about Brazzers getting the award. My take on these awards is that they tend lean towards those in plastic, perhaps because those in plastic make more $$$$, perhaps because the voters like the plastic girls. But, it always seems that the established girls I can't stand .... and wouldn't waste a kb of my RS quota on ... They always, ALWAYS win.
If I were to get an offer of a free pass to any of the mentioned sites, Brazzers would not be in my top 5 options. Other than TeensLikeItBig, I've no interest in their stuff.
As for the advertising, I'm assuming if it wasn't generating memberships they wouldn't be doing it. I don't know what ads you're speaking of. I don't recall any on any pirating boards I visit. But, I've seen their ads when waiting for screencaps on like ImageVenue. So, Brazzers seems to have figured a way to get a few $$$ off people who would otherwise dl all their stuff for free ... that seems like a good idea to me.

If they are getting people to sign up, they are ahead and have people who would otherwise pay them nothing. You can want to do building without shelling out to the trade unions in NYC, but you can't. The best way to fight pirating is to take down the links as fast as possible. It pisses off the uploaders and makes certain scenes very, very hard to find.
I can tell you that I'll dl new Reality Kings stuff asap since the links never last more than 24 hours ... and rarely that long.
Some, like Blondsweety of PrivatAmateure, actually prowl the boards themselves and get their stuff down in no time. Posters on 3 boards actually have stopped uploading her stuff out of frustration. There is one where a poster was threatened with a ban if he continued with requests for her since it was clear no one wanted to list them anymore.
But, it seems few producers care enough to make any effort. I've offered more than one producer links to their movies as I come across them, but they just see no need to fight it. They consider it a waste of time.
But, from the frustration I read from those whose links get killed, it actually has an impact.
You upload a new RealityKings clip or a Hustler video on a popular site, it's coming down and fast. If it's up 24 hours, it's a long time. And, once the original links are killed, it's often quite an effort to find the movie/web clip.
Now, why these morons CARE if their stupid links are killed is beyond me. It's not like it takes a grand amount of effort to RAR and upload files. But, Christ, if they don't go crazy sometimes. And, the people who "missed out" are constantly begging for reposts that rarely come.

Yes, the hypocrisy and drama-queening in the filesharing 'community' is nothing short of hilarious...from the righteous indignation when copyright holders DARE to contact the hoster and have their links removed, or accusing people who just download stuff without actually contributing anything of being 'leechers' (not big fans of irony, apparently), or the always pitiful sight of some overly self-important shut-in getting his panties in a bunch because someone dared to post 'his' link elsewheres and didn't give him 'credit'. 
I think the real question for the industry regarding piracy is 'How do you kill off that which has no life?', because a lot of these guys evidently don't
