I used to be a degenerate when it came to the NFL; I've decided to bet every playoff game. http://www.footballlocks.com/nfl_odds.shtmlWith the above lines, I like the Falcons, Colts, Eagles, Ravens....

Agree with you on all but the Falcons. [Don't think ATL can stop the pass and they haven't played all that well on the road].
But, I'll be rooting for the Dolphins [and Chad] and the Vikings [I don't want the Eagles to play the Giants].

I'm not betting any, but I like Phila as the best play here. I think they'll win by dbl digits.
Indy I like after reading this: The Indianapolis Colts have allowed just six passing touchdowns this season, fewest ever in the NFL in a 16-game season. Wow. they really came from out of nowhere this year. Rivers is sharp, but maybe they can shut him down.
I think Ravens win, but wish all the best to Chad and want him to win it all just to spite the Jets owner and his stupid fkng man love crush on the washed up old Favre. As a Jets fan, I never thought I'd pull for the Dolphins.
I'm going to the Cards-Falcons game. Have to wonder if we'll see the shitty ass Cards that couldnt tie their own shoes the last 6 weeks of the year. Not counting wins over abyssmal Rams and Seahawks. I could see this being a 37-34 type game with the last team to have time to drive wins it. Matt Ryan is a good story and Atl. probably wins this thing. But the Cards are my 2nd favorite team just because I live here and love going to NFL games no matter who's playing.

I would only bet on Atlanta and Indy though I might be tempted to take the Dolphins to beat the spread. Atlanta may not play well on the road but Arizona has not played well anywhere for the last month and I don't see where one dome team has an advantage over another dome team. Atlanta is the better team and might have gone 14-2 if they played in the piss poor NFC West instead of the South this year.
Playing in San Diego in January does not provide any advantage to the home team especially since it is the later game of the day. What will the wind chill be, 65 or so? Tomlinson is dinged again and San Diego's defense is not good. Indy is arguably the hottest team in the league. I'd stay the hell away from the Vikings-Eagles game. Those are both Jeckyl and Hyde teams. Who knows which one of either will show up.

I'm a dolphins fan but If I BET I would be taking the ravens. Dolphins still need a few pieces to the puzzle to be a superbowl contender. Hoping for a Fin win but think the ravens will win in otherwords.
Question- for the jets fans- how do you guys feel about Farve at this point ? I am curious, i hated the move and feel i was proven right but was wondering about the perspective of true jets fans.

but was wondering about the perspective of true jets fans.
I've always seen Favre as an over-rated interception machine [thus my rants against his "lauding" when he retired] and, since I'm not much of a gambler, I've never liked his risky style. I was not very happy they went with Favre ... mostly because it's hard for me to root for him.
But, I never would have thought Chad would have been as successful as he was with the Dolphins. I LOVE Chad, but he had a pop-gun arm to start and he injuries didn't help. And, he hasn't proven to be very durable.
Honestly, I thought that they would be better than Chad would be with the 'Fins or would have been with the Jets.
Either way, once we signed who we did and I looked at the schedule before the season started, I expected a chance at the playoff as a wild card. For me, basically it came down to if we won the easy games [both Dolphins games, Bills at home, all the NFC West games, KC, Oak] and then pulled off one of medium games [Bengal - who I thought would be better, Titans - who I never thought would be that good, Bills in Buffalo]. I assumed, based on my expectations of them that we would lose both NE games, to SD in SD and to the Broncos. You always lose a game you shouldn't and win a game you shouldn't. But, that's 10 Wins, and chance at the wild card.
When Brady went down, I thought Favre would have a good chance to beat a guy who never started a game since High School. More the fool, I. Then, after we went up on SD with a pick-6, Favre answered right back. I had little hope even though we beat on the scrubs. Look how we struggled to get by KC!
But, then the large 1st half against NE. The choke of a 2nd half. And, then Favre was brilliant in the overtime [Chad never could have made those throws].
Suddenly we were like 8-3 and beaten up the Titans on the road, who were the class of the conference with the usual AFC suspects struggling.
But, then the Broncos game. They all admitted to reading the clippings. But, in truth, they were LUCKY to even win one more game. And, Favre turned out to be just what I thought.
Would Chad have done better? Maybe. Maybe not. But, he would have TRIED his heart out. He wouldn't have given that "If we win, we win" speech that Favre gave in his last game.
Chad wouldn't have padded up stats against the Rams and Cardinals, but I doubt he throws all the pick-6s. I doubt he plays with no heart the last 5 games of the season. I doubt he hides in his little office. I think you see a real leader on the field.
If they were going to get a replacement for Chad, and honestly I thought they needed one and his arm was gone, they should have gotten someone with heart. Someone who wanted to win. Who wanted to lead. Not someone who needed to shown that there were places to hunt nearby.
And, it's not like Favre could even throw anymore ....
[rant, rant, rant and rant]
btw, this year's Dolphins and the Giants broke the record of the 2nd Super Bowl Giant by committing only 13 turnovers. Favre had 22 INTs all by himself.

See that is what i thought Fatman, most jet fans i talk to or hear on talk radio don't want farve back, it was a gamble that didnt work out and it is time to move on. Your owner however might want farve to return if the talk around town is correct. If that is true he might be doing a big misread on the jet fans true feelings about farve.

I know of NONE who want Favre back. Not even those who were the most excited when he came [and MOST, unlike me, were VERY excited when he came].
I don't think Woody is misreading it. I think he prefers the national attention endemic to Favre, and most fans don't have access to tickets anyway. In any case, I don't anticipate any fans who kept their ticket thru the myriad Jet disasters of the past, walking away from them just because of Favre. PSLs or no PSLs. There are FAR more takers for tickets than there are possible tickets in NY area.
If you look to the national boards, like ESPN, Favre is still quite popular nationally. You'll see people from all over the country defending Favre while Jet fans pan him.
It seems that Woody is more interested in selling jerseys, getting national coverage, etc., than fielding a winning team.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think Man-Genius did a good job this year. His job was on the line and he couldn't get his team to play hard for him. If fact, they quit. So, his firing was fair. [Most Jet fans wanted him fired after the Seahawk's debacle]. But, I think Woody fired him mostly as a 1st step to try to keep Favre.
[Anyway, another long passing TD for the Cards early on ... 14-3]

You rock!
Pitt 70-53. St Johns 71-65. Kansas 92-85.
[other still in progress ...]
3 out of 4 isn't bad. Washington 68 - Washington State 48
I watch tons of the Big East so I'm good at picking those games, Tennessee is overrated and Kansas is always unbeatable at home, as for Washington State I always like the home team in rivalry games when the spread is that close.
I went with all the road teams in the NFL this weekend and will most likely end up 1 out 4.

Unbeatable at home? They just got beat at home by Massachusetts two weeks ago. Any game that Aldrich gets into foul trouble in this year will be trouble for KU. Collins is also not an ideal point guard. He has too much of a let me get my points first mentality. I'm surprised they won but they will get killed next week when they play at Michigan St.

Will the tuna survive to swim another day? I hope not. Ravens pick their eyes out! It would be nice to see the Vikings win, like a trip back to the 70s: You see all those pictures or kids wearing GB and Viking wear. I think I had a GB helmet back in the day.

Who is everyone picking this weekend, think i got 3 of 4 last week
I'll take the Ravens, Panthers, Chargers and Giants ( although that last one is from the heart more than my mind) with points as they stand tonight.

Dude, the Chargers?? Steelers are going to be all over them...or at least I'm really hoping so. In any case, with LT's health in question vs. the #1 defense, in Pittsburgh, I think the edge goes to the black n' gold.

Vizz, How's Ben? Is he 100%.
The doubts I have on the Steelers are Ben's head and the way the Chargers played them tough last time.
The doubts I have on the Chargers are no LT and their best receiver arrested for a DUI.
I see a Steeler win if Ben is OK. But, if he's not and he's going to have one of his off days, the Chargers have the offense to make the Steelers pay for turnovers.
I see the Panthers rolling, but I'll be rooting for the Cardinals.
I'm going with Kerry to top the Ravens. I see both defenses as tough, but Kerry getting an edge over the rookie.
I'm going with the G-men, but the Eagles scare the hell out of me.

Ben's going to be fine in time for the game, but in my opinion, he's irrelevant at this point. Our team is almost solely fueled by our defense and our running game. If Ben doesn't play, we have Leftwich, who still kicks ass. I'm fairly confident that we're going to win this one...but I've been wrong before...there were the Bubby Brister years *shudder*

True. Sooooo true. When Ben's off we get things like the game against the Titans...he fumbled twice (lost them) and got intercepted twice, giving up 21 points.
I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that the bye week gave Ben and crew enough time to get their heads together. Besides, if we were able to beat them once, albeit barely, we should be able to do it again.

Regarding the other games this weekend, here are my picks:
Ravens vs. Titans - I want the Titans and I think they'll win.
Cardinals vs. Panthers - I want the Cards, but I think the Panthers will kill them.
Eagles vs. Giants - I want the Eagles, but I think the Giants will win.

eagles were the one easy pic last week and the only one i felt sure of.
my sure to be wrong guesses for this weekend:
chargers 17 steelers 13
ravens 19 titans13
cardinals 34 panthers 20 (wishfull thinking disclaimer-not for wagering purposes!)
eagles 24 giants 23
not sure of any of these but if i had to bet one, i'd go with the ravens.
road team bonanza!

Steelers, Ravens, Panthers, Giants.
However, I would rather see some kind of Florida, Utah, USC, Texas situation 'cause college football's far more interesting, passionate and varied.

Weather not expected to be of help to the Chargers.
Cloudy, chance of snow, 10-15 mpg wind, 16 degrees at kick-off going down after, wind chill zero and below.

I had the Steelers over the Chargers 27-17 (figured the weather might fuck up an extra point). My girlfriend wouldn't talk to me for most the day over it until San Diego got their asses kicked. Chargers didn't deserve it with their shit record and bitching over their stadium here in San Diego. Glad to see them out. My moneys on Arizona to take it.

You know I don't get to see a lot of games of other teams because unfortunately they are not in my market...but I would love the see a Ravens win......Their defense is amazing and they don't seem to get tired....so I guess since my normal first picks are out of it...I am liking the Ravens...

Colin Cowherd picked the Cardinals, 30-20 over the Eagles. It may happen. Now 'm the biggest Cardinal hater there is, but even I will have to hop on the bandwagon if this comes to pass.

Steelers over Ravens, then over the FUBAR NFC winner.
Of course, my success rate from the last week was only 50%.

So far the Cardinals are playing the role of the hot chick and the Eagles are playing the role of Ryan Knox.

The Tampa Bay Rays make it to the World Series and the Arizona Cardinals make it to the Super Bowl. I'm putting money on Da Burglar to shatter the world record in the mile sometime this year.

For Terrible Towels, a Wonderful Legacy By JOHN BRANCH There is one Steelers fan in Pittsburgh ambivalent about the team’s success. “It’s actually been really hard for me, with the Steelers going to the Super Bowl,” the 38-year-old Elizabeth Cope said. “Because I have to see the Terrible Towels everywhere. It’s great. But it hurts.” The towels are a swirling reminder of her father, Myron Cope, a longtime Pittsburgh broadcaster credited with creating the Terrible Towel in 1975. Before he died last February at age 79, Elizabeth Cope watched last year’s Super Bowl with him in his hospital room. She draped his coffin with a quilt that a fan had made out of Terrible Towels. But the great part comes from what each of those towels does for people like Danny Cope, Myron’s son and Elizabeth’s older brother. Myron Cope left behind something far more personal than a legacy of terrycloth, a battle flag for a city and its team. In 1996, he handed over the trademark to the Terrible Towel to the Allegheny Valley School. It is a network of campuses and group homes across Pennsylvania for people with severe intellectual and developmental disabilities. It receives almost all the profits from sales of the towels. Danny Cope is one of the roughly 900 people the school serves. He has been a resident since 1982, when he was a teenager. He was diagnosed with severe mental retardation when he was 2. He is now 41. “He’s never spoken,” Elizabeth Cope said. “Which is kind of funny, because Dad is known for his voice. It’s almost like the Terrible Towel is Danny’s silent voice.” Hundreds of thousands of the towels — trademarked as “Myron Cope’s the Official Terrible Towel” — are sold every year, for about $7 each. Through the Steelers, who handle the marketing of the towels, the school receives a check every month, usually for tens of thousands of dollars. A Super Bowl changes everything. The company that produces the towels, McArthur Towel & Sports of Baraboo, Wis., produced 450,000 of them last week, after the Steelers won the A.F.C. championship. The company expects to duplicate that this week before Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals, its president, Gregg McArthur, said. A Steelers victory would most likely lead to orders of at least 500,000 more for a pair of Super Bowl versions of the Terrible Towel, one with the score against the Cardinals, the other declaring the Steelers as six-time Super Bowl champions. Before this season, Allegheny Valley School had received more than $2.5 million from the towels since 1996, said its chief executive officer, Regis Champ. Roughly $1 million of that came during and immediately after the 2005 season, when the Steelers won Super Bowl XL. This season is likely to top that. “It’s an incredible help for us,” Champ said. “We’re a nonprofit organization, and our primary funding is through Medicaid. While Medicaid is very good to people with disabilities, it is limited in what it will cover.” Champ said that Myron Cope wanted the money to go not for construction projects, but for individual assistance for residents. Recent purchases include high-end specialized wheelchairs and sensory programs that allow severely disabled residents, including quadriplegics, to perform tasks such as turning on lights or music with a movement of their eyes. The money has also been spent on adaptive communication devices, computers that give voice to those who cannot speak. Danny Cope has one. The checks are usually spent as they are received. “Our needs are daily,” Champ said. Elizabeth Cope receives none of the proceeds from the Terrible Towel. Her father (whose wife, Mildred, died in 1994) transferred the trademark out of gratitude to the school. “He came into my office, and he had a pile of papers,” Champ said. “He threw them down on my desk and said, ‘Regis, I’m giving you the Terrible Towel.’ I said, ‘Myron, I have about 10 of them. I’ll take another one, but ... “He said, ‘No, I’m giving you the rights, and you’ll be able to get all the proceeds from the Terrible Towels.’ I was speechless. I knew that this would be the legacy that outlived Myron.” The idea for the towels came out of a 1975 meeting Cope had at WTAE, the Steelers’ flagship radio station where he was the voice of the Steelers. Executives wanted a promotional gimmick, something to raise the excitement level during the playoffs. Pittsburgh’s blue-collar fans were not the pompom types. But towels were far more utilitarian, useful for wiping the seats or protecting against the chill. Cope dubbed them Terrible Towels. On air, he encouraged fans to bring gold or black towels to the first playoff game against the Colts. It seemed too gimmicky, until about half the crowd began waving them at the start of the game. The Steelers won their second consecutive Super Bowl, surrounded by a sea of swirling towels. Soon they were trademarked and mass-produced. They have been imitated by other franchises, but usually they are handed out for free, and they feel both unoriginal and uninspired by comparison. Even the N.F.L. could not contain itself; it is selling a white “Trophy Towel” to fans of both the Steelers and the Cardinals. “When I see other towels in other stadiums, I know they probably have no personal story behind them,” Elizabeth Cope said. She said she has “millions” of them at home, and recently donated some framed originals to a Pittsburgh museum. There is one displayed at the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Myron Cope was treasured in Pittsburgh for his enthusiasm, nasally voice and quirky exclamations such as “Yoi!” and “Double yoi!” But he knew he would be most remembered for the towel. And he made sure that it would always be more than just something to cheer the Steelers to victory. When Danny Cope arrived at Allegheny Valley School, Myron Cope told Champ that doctors said he needed 24-hour supervision and would never be able to work. Danny Cope, who is also autistic, now lives in a supervised group home with four others in a Pittsburgh suburb. He shops and goes to sports events. He has a paying job, packaging pretzels and snacks on an assembly line. “Myron said that he was thankful for the life his son had,” Champ said. The connective threads are strong. Many of the Terrible Towels go through a workshop in Chippewa Falls, Wis., similar to the one where Danny Cope works. About 80 employees with severe disabilities help fold, tag and box the shipments, McArthur said. Come Sunday, when the Terrible Towels are swirling around Raymond James Stadium, they may also be swirling around Danny Cope. His friends like to watch the games, and Cope understands the Terrible Towels mean something exciting is happening. “But as far as the legacy his father left?” Champ said. “No, I’m afraid Danny doesn’t understand that.” LINK

I guess it's Super Bowl weekend?
I enjoyed last year's edition a lot. So, who is in it this year? And what should be my favorite team?

I like to go for the underdog, which I guess this time around will be the Cardinals, but the laws of the universe point towards a Steelers win, perhaps by a spread of 3. My internal bookie says 27-24, Steelers.

Normally I don't give a rancid fart about either team . Since this is the Super Bowl however and the Cardinals have a K-State alum (Monty Beisel) on their team and the Steelers do not I am rooting for the Cardinals. However the football analyst inside me is predicting a final score of 28-17 Steelers (if Hines Ward plays, knock it down to 23/24-17 if he doesn't).

Hmmmmm.....who to pick.....who to pick! But seriously, just like it took a team from Pennsylvania (the Phillies) to stick a fork in the Cinderella Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series, another PA team, the Steelers, will stick a fork in the Cinderella Cardinals (ironically in Tampa Bay)! All of the "Cinderella" talk surrounding the Cards and all of the attention placed on them, has taken all of the pressure and focus off the team that, on paper, clearly should win (the Steelers). The Steelers have the talent & the players with Super Bowl experience....And the Steelers are going to win. I'm going with the Steelers: 27 Cardinals: 17. Once again, the Steelers will be alone atop with 6 Super Bowl wins! As Myron would say "YOI!"

The Cardinals are the Cubs of football, but not lovable.
Pittsburgh 31, Cardinals 6.

On to the important stuff, what is Springsteen going to play at halftime and who is replacing Danny Federici on organ? The safest bet you can make tomorrow is that Glory Days will not be part of the set list. There is absolutely no way the NFL is going to let Springsteen sing a verse about a former baseball pitcher at halftime of the Super Bowl. They would let him walk out on stage in assless chaps before that happened. I'm betting The Rising, Born to Run, Tenth Avenue Freeze Out, something from his new album and Born in the U.S.A.

Steelers 21-9. Goddamn, I'm so fucking excited for tomorrow!
You're not the only one! I hope the Steelers fucking crush the Cards now! Two weeks ago, I didn't give a damn about the Cardinals, now I totally fuckin hate them! All the pro Cards shit in the media makes me sick. They beat 3 NFC teams of dubious consistency, and no one thinks they have a chance. Now they play the Steelers, winner of the best conference, the AFC, with the best defense in the NFL, and all these fuckers come out of the woodwork & jump on their bandwagon saying how the Cards are gonna win! Not that they need it, I hope all the disrespect they have been shown in the media and on ESPN fires the Steelers (esp. Harrison, Woodley, Polamalu, Clark, and the rest of the defense), up even more....and they fuckin kill Warner, Fitzgerald, and the rest of the pussies in red!
I can't wait for kick off....don't know if I can sleep tonite now! Can't wait for the Steelers to show who is best & why they say defense wins championships, and to shut up all the assholes who don't know shit in the media who love jumping on the bandwagon.
I've got my 6-pack of Iron City (don't usually drink that much) ready to crack open as soon as the Steelers complete their 6-Pack!

I watched a thing on the news about these two gorillas in a zoo that have correctly predicted superbowl winners for 20+ years now. Apparently the gorillas choose the winners by putting on a t-shirt. Shirts from both teams are placed in front of the gorillas and whichever shirt they put on is said to be the winner. The news lady claimed the gorillas have never been wrong.
They put on the Cardinals shirt this year.
I wish I had more info, I wonder if it's just a coincidence that these gorillas are right every year...

Hell of a game. Right when I thought we had it wrapped up, the Cards came back....took the lead (though I still had hope, given that the Cards scored with so much time left on the clock)....but of course, in the end, Big Ben struck midnight & Cinderella's story was over! Damn near gave me a heart attack, I lost my voice, but that game is proof positive why they play 60 minutes instead of 58. I think Ben probably should have been the MVP given how he kept extending plays & drove them to the winning TD, but the final score is all that mattered to me (and him, I'm sure)! I've been a Steelers fan since the day I was born. My mother was and is a big Steelers fan & she raised my brother and myself up right! The Steelers won their 1st 4 Super Bowls when I was a kid (last of the 4 when I was about 8), and I was starting to wonder how much longer I was going to have to wait. Now it's been 2 in 4 seasons! Makes all the suffering I have had to endure the past 16 years as a Pirates fan tolerable (and my Penguins haven't been too hot this season either). Given how the game ended, I thought it would have been nice for the Cardinals to have brought back Dennis Green so he could have entertained us with his "They are who we thought they were......we had them & we left them off the hook...." rant. Ken Whisenhunt was too subdued. But the NFL was at least poetically ironic (albeit accidentally I'm sure) in chosing Hall of Fame QB Joe Namath to present the Lombardi Trophy. There you have a guy who is not only from the Pittsburgh area....but you also have a guy who decided to play for the team who drafted him from the old AFL (the Jets), and rejected the team that drafted him from the NFL (who was ironically the Cardinals of course). Steelers are the only team with the 6-Pack......and next year, we go for 7!

Forgot to mention, on a somber note, my mother, a HUGE Steelers fan (and she really knows & understands football...she's not a fake) also, suffered a stroke in August. She was lucky, and didn't suffer any paralysis, though she was weaker & had trouble thinking clearly (finding the right words) at times, but she recovered pretty good. Then, on November 22 (same day Kennedy was killed ironically), right before being discharged (a few hours before) from the hospital following surgery to clear the blockage in her carotid artery that caused the stroke, she suffered another stroke (though now they think it may have been an extension of the stroke she suffered in August). Again she was lucky enough not to suffer any paralysis, she gets around pretty good (sometimes with a walker now) and she has recovered pretty good, & is back to about where she was when she went in for the operation. Of course, since my brother lives farther away, and my mom didn't want to move out of the area, my wife and I have taken her in until she is recovered enough to fully take care of herself & live on her own (my dad died 15 years ago). I'm not an overly emotional or religious person. I usually keep my emotions in check (though I am very passionate about things), and I don't wear my religious beliefs on my sleeves, and you won't ever see me praying that my team wins a sporting event like so many do (I figure, if there is a God, I would hope he has much more important things to deal with than to be bothered with the outcome of a game). But let me tell you, it was hard to beat the feeling I got to see my mother right there in the middle of my Super Bowl party & to actually see her get animated, do some serious cheering like she used to do (following her strokes, she really didn't get animated anymore), and swear like a drunken sailor when things weren't going the Steelers way (or when they showed close-ups of the Cardinals for that matter). I just knew that my mother wouldn't have been spared only to have our Steelers lose this seasons Super Bowl, much less lose the way they damn near did. I'm glad I wasn't wrong! The road to 7 begins today! Now to find some lawyer that is still taking lawsuits against the manufacturers of Celebrex (my mom took it for about 10 years before the stroke, and given her health before....that is the only thing that I can think of that caused it)!

They blew a massive lead with stupidity. A safety in the fucking Superbowl?
Blowing the lead not withstanding, the safety wasn't the worst thing that could have happened given they started the drive with the ball at about the 1 yard line. Granted, the safety happened because of a holding penalty in the endzone on a play that would have been a Steelers 1st down out at the 21 yard line (and they could have made the Cardinals eat their time outs & run most, if not all, of the clock out from there). And granted the Cardinals scored the go ahead TD on their next drive anyway. But before it happened (and ignoring how it happened), I would have taken giving up the safety and getting the free kick over having to punt the ball from the back of the endzone & all but guaranteeing that the Cardinals would have had the ball in GREAT field position. But then again, the safety happened in a shitty way (on a hold on a play that would have been a 1st down).
But anyway, though the Steelers blew a lead, I believe they showed why they are true Champions. Ben is not a glamorous QB, but he gets the job done. Think about how many teams would have folded after having that dagger thrust into their heart with a little over 2 minutes left in the game. But time and time again, with Ben at the helm, the Steelers haven't given up, and have marched down the field for the winning score when many thought all hope was lost. Ben and the Steelers proved it again today.....& I think most people would agree that that is the mark of a true champion!
The Cardinals just got a taste (albeit much more dramatically) of what they did to the Eagles 2 weeks ago (blew big lead, went back ahead toward the end, then held).

Very entertaining match. I enjoyed it very much. Harrison's 100-yard run was most impressive.
Glad the Steelers won in the end. I thought they deserved it.

The Cardinals blew the game in the last fifteen seconds of the first half. I don't care if they came back and got the lead later that stupid pass by Warner cost them at least ten points and all the momentum they would have had going into half time. Frankly the play before where they threw the dump off out to the sidelines only to have the receiver cut to the middle instead of stepping out of bounds may have been an even worse play. If they stop the clock Warner doesn't have to rush that next pass straight into Harrison's hands.

at least the Cards showed up and battled. the Harrison play was brutal. And when Larry scored and I saw 2:47, I knew trouble was coming. 30 more seconds on the clock at the end and Warner probably gets it done. i respect the Steelers of course . the Harrison play and the insane catch by Santonio combined with the clock going thier way at the end....what can you say. And they contained Larry other than that one monster play. At least they earned this one unlike that last one vs.Sea. that was 'gifted' to them.

Anyone from Tucson? Station Says Porn Clip Interrupted Super BowlPHOENIX (AP) -- A Tucson television station's broadcast of the Super Bowl on Sunday was interrupted for some viewers by about 10 seconds of pornographic material, the station said. KVOA TV in Tucson released a statement saying that the only viewers who were able to see the material were those who receive the channel through Comcast cable. The station said it will investigate the incident. ''When the NBC feed of the Super Bowl was transmitted from KVOA to local cable providers and through over-the-air antennas, there was no pornographic material,'' KVOA president and general manager Gary Nielsen said in a statement. The KVOA statement said the station was dismayed and disappointed that some Comcast customers and their families were subjected to the material. ''KVOA will continue to investigate what happened to our clean signal and make sure our viewers get answers,'' Nielsen said in the statement. Comcast spokeswoman Tracy Baumgartner confirmed that the company's standard feed was interrupted during the Super Bowl, although she said its high definition feed was not. Baumgartner said engineers were investigating Sunday night. Tucson media outlets reported that they received calls from irate viewers about the pornographic material. A spokesman for Cox Cable said the company had not been affected. ''We have received no evidence that any inappropriate material was broadcast on any of our channels during the Super Bowl,'' Mike Dunne said. ''The alleged incident appears to be isolated to the Comcast territory. We will offer our support to all appropriate organizations to help them determine what happened.'' Joel Hilander of Tucson told The Associated Press that he and his young children saw the clip. ''I couldn't believe it. And I couldn't believe that my children were watching it either,'' Hilander said. He said the interruption came just after the Arizona Cardinals' Larry Fitzgerald scored on a long touchdown reception during the final minutes of the game. SOURCE

I would have been pissed to if I was watching the game with kids all around and that came on. Now it gives voice to all the anti-porn douchebags out there who are going to pounce on this. Whoever did this fucked it up for the porn fans that know there is a time and a place for porn.

I don't disagree that that's pretty fucked up, especially given that apparent fact that it was done intentionally by some rogue. But, I must admit that I find it amusing how all the people who are "outraged" that their "innocent" children were subjected to such "garbage", now are looking to be compensated for being so "traumatized." I'm waiting for someone to make the claim that they are terrified to watch television with their kids ever again & how they and their kids are having nightmares & trouble sleeping. It's funny how "getting paid" seems to make all the nightmares go away & makes everything in the world okay again. Where does everyone get the idea that every fucked up thing in the world ENTITLES them to some form of compensation? And if compensation makes them "all better," were they really "injured" at all in the 1st place?
Hell, when I was a kid (elementary school), I wouldn't have had a clue what I was seeing. At that stage in life, the most I had done was innocently kissed & "played doctor." I doubt any kid saw anything that meant anything to them, much less traumatized them.
If they catch the person behind the clip, and that person turns out to be a Comcast employee, by all means they should be fired. The customers on the other hand, aren't entitled to anything over and above an apology in my opinion. But of course, that isn't going to happen. The vultures are already circling, and Comcast has already announced that they are looking into a way to compensate all of the customers who were subjected to the feed that included the clip.

What, you didn't love the lame ass way he changed the lyrics to "Glory Days" to appease the NFL? Is it any wonder why he made that exclusive deal (that he now says he "regrets" making....after hearing enough bitching from his fans of course) he made with Walmart? Just like virtually everyone else, he's all about they money, & fuck the art! They said he was asked to do the Halftime show for 10-15 years, and of course he waits until he is about eligible for Social Security to do it (because now he needs/wants the money). Hell I thought he was going to have a heart attack before he finished his set. Very lame indeed! Post Janet Jackson, it seems like the NFL is afraid to book anyone who isn't pushing 60 (though I guess Prince wasn't quite 50 when he did it a few years ago).
Who's the smart money on who the geeze(s) they will book for Super Bowl XLIV? Since it's in Miami (and they fucked up when Super Bowl XL was in Detroit...and they hired the Stones instead of a Motown artist...no Motown artists initially at all even), I'm going to go with pandering and say they will get Gloria Estefan (since she is over 50 and all).

Find someone under the age of 50 in the music business with talent today. I don't want Ceramic God Product overseeing the Super Bowl halftime show. When I get to be Springsteen's age I hope I have enough energy to baseball slide my junk down a cameraman's throat. I agree about all the lyric changes though. I also would have rather heard the full version of three songs instead of half versions of six. I wonder how many people who bitch about recording artists making exclusive deals with Wal-Mart ever used Napster or other music file sharing systems.

I think you can pencil Gloria Estefan in for some pre-game stuff like Faith Hill this year, she isn't popular enough to headline the halftime show.
I can see them having multiple lame acts for next year, something like Bon Jovi, Beyonce and Tim McGraw.
