Ok. My Jets traded for Favre just before the opener and I've been forced to root for a man that I've never liked and I never thought was all that good.

Then he was 8-3 ... with NO ONE all that good left to play on the schedule. And, they lost all but one ... and the one they won was in no way due to Sir Brett.

In fact, Brett was TERRIBLE in each and every of the last 5 games. At times, his arm seemed dead. Others he completely overshot his open receivers downfield. But, mostly, as his is wont, he made bad decisions and threw pass right to opponent. Horrible. Just plain HORRIBLE.


In the end, he was a lifeless interception machine. His inspirational "speech" before yesterday's game pissed me off no end.

Honestly, I wasn't that unhappy about the loss yesterday. If my Jets weren't going to the playoffs, I preferred that Chad, who busted his butt for my Jets, who played hurt against the Steelers and almost upset them a few years back, yes, I preferred Chad go to the playoffs over Belichik.



Favre? I thought my lasting memory of him would be the inception he threw against the Giants to basically lose that playoff game. It was so typical of him in my eyes.

But, yesterday, near the end of the game, that pass to no one in green that hit the Dolphin right in the chest ... well that summed him up for me. It was even worse than that pick-6 he threw just before the half. Bad. Just plain BAD.


Favre = Over-rated, [clap, clap, clap-clap-clap]!!



And, now Woody Johnson wants to keep Favre here ... saddle whoever is the new coach with a broken-down version of a guy who at his best was a lucky gambler and a big interception waiting to happen. Why? Because he sells a couple of jerseys. You've got to be KIDDING me!

Poor Jets. Same old, same old. To be done in by the guy they dumped at the beginning of the season- that must have hurt. Maybe old Parcells will return for another go with the Jets and try to build them up. Favre is probably just too worn and tired to be solid and consistent. I hope he retires for good. The only silver lining for the Jets is that at the very least they did not get raped like the Cowboys, 6-44. Jerry Jones and his boys got reamed.

It might have bothered the owner & the GM who tossed him away, but it didn't bother me. Most fans who called Mike Francesa today didn't seemed bothered by Chad winning either.

I always liked Chad. He's limited in what he can do, but he does the most with what he has. I don't wish him ill. He played his heart out for the Jets.

That's the guy who was in "Something About Mary" right?

Look at the bright side now the NFL and New York don't have to solve the "what if the Jets and the Giants both host conference championship games on the same Sunday" question.

I liked Pennington, too. He always seemed to be fighting back from some injury or other and he soldiered on even when they imploded, season after season. The way they dumped him was low class, but I guess the team per se had nothing to do with that. As for his limitations, he does not seem able to throw very far with precision, or it just seems that way.

mangina was not the problem. he should serve someone well. can't imagine he doesn't get a job soon.
can the jets take note of flacco and ryan and maybe give clemens a proper shot now! (assuming brett gets gone).

never thought i'd pull for the fish on any level, but all the best to chad. good dude and a helluva story down there this year.

Favre hated him. He leaked to ESPN that he was "dressed down" in front of the team. According to every player that the FAN was talked to, the incident never happened.

But, the owner is infatuated with Favre. And, if it leans Brett to return, then all the better.

Me? I dislike Woody. Always have. His man-crush on Brett is just another brick in that wall.
