Usually I hate talking by the patrons. It's one of many reasons why I don't get enjoyment out of going to movies. [The fact I can't watch lying down, pause when I wish, don't have to deal with the sounds of others eating and can get a beverage at ~50 cents a liter being others I usually watch at home].
But, one of my best movie experiences was in Detroit when the crowd talked to the screen.
I was visiting a college friend who was getting his Masters in Clinical Psych at Wayne State [he got his doctorate at Tufts], and we went to see "Aliens". The crowd, mostly black, coached Sigourney on her way around the space station. It added drama and comedy ... like when a person would scream in anticipation of something that didn't happen after a build-up.
I rather enjoyed it ... as my vivid recollection of a movie experience -- which is older than many of the porn whores I watch -- would imply.
