I can understand about being a man and being able to drink more than a woman theoretically without being as drunk because most men weigh more than women, but what does being a marine and being in good shape have anything to do with the amount of alcohol it takes for someone to get drunk?

Being in good shape because he's built and muscular which can make it more difficult to get that drunk. Being a Marine because maybe with all the training he had and how rigorous it can be, it might make him less likely to get that drunk unless he drank ten times more than what most men drink.
