I just would have stolen cinder blocks and wood from a construction site. In a pinch I might replace the cinder blocks with milk crates.

It's the same exact quality as the grab N go shit you can get at Office Depot or Walmart and it costs 3 times as much. Fuck that shit.

Jeez, Panzer. At least spring for these.
This is one of the few Ikea items I have. Stack the books horizontally instead of the usual vertical, and it looks amazing. It also brings a sense of order to a busy room. Ikea is good in small doses. I prefer their copycat designer stuff than their pieces that scream 'Ikea.' I also like their price for stainless steel pots and pans, wooden hangers, and closet organizers. The prices for that stuff beat Walmart and Target. Steer clear of Ikea's crap quality and 'hi, I got this at Ikea' beds, couches, or wall 'art.'

I've never gone there, but I've assembled a couple of bookshelves and some sort of cabinet thing in an office I worked in long ago. It just didn't seem very sturdy to me...I mean, they looked decent, but the just felt kinda flimsy. Those little dowel rod fuckers are a real pain in the ass too.

When they first got to the US, or at least some 14 years ago, they used to make some pretty sturdy bookshelves, but I think quality went down as they became more popular.
