Why are hamburgers - which don't have meat from pigs - called hamburgers? Why not call them beefburgers?

Also what do you call burgers made from pork? "real hamburgers"

I Googled for it last night and that's what I found that it originated there.

In the late eighteenth century, the largest ports in Europe were in Germany. Sailors who had visited the ports of Hamburg, Germany and New York, brought this food and term "Hamburg Steak" into popular usage.
To attract German sailors, eating stands along the New York city harbor offered "steak cooked in the Hamburg style."

"According to the American Heritage Dictionary, the term "hamburger" comes from Hamburg steak, which was first recorded in English in 1884 but was probably used much earlier. A form of pounded beef called "Hamburg Steak" was common in Hamburg in the middle of the 19th century." From Wikipedia

I'm starting to get really sick of you. The next time you post something this retarded expect not to find it.
