So show up anyways. Just don't sit and eat a plate -- maybe grab some pizza during the first part of the dinner. Everyone else going could probably care less about catered mozza ball soup or whatever... You can still go have a few drinks and enjoy the reception. Most weddings I know of, the bride and groom wouldn't turn down an additional guest who costs them nothing but space in the room, but brings a card and donation.
