Great novels, good white wine, the Oxford comma, and hip whips.
Dislikes
Low blocks, last call, TV screens in cabs.
Athletic Background
Em Dash dabbled in a lot of different sports when she was younger: lacrosse, field hockey, soccer, tennis, golf, swimming, and volleyball. She played softball for more than eight years, and played ice hockey for about six before an ankle injury in the first game cut short her first season on her fledgling college team. Dash began skating with Suburbia Roller Derby in 2007
She has never loved a sport as much as she loves roller derby.
Bio
Em Dash was born in Manhattan and grew up in Westchester, NY. At Smith College, she majored in English Literature and co-founded Labrys, a magazine of art and literature. After that, Dash returned to New York to get a job in book publishing. She has been at her current job with an independent publisher for three years. Every time she saves up a little money, she buys a new pair of skates or travels to somewhere new. Dash has been to over 15 countries on three continents -- her favorites have been Guatemala, Amsterdam, Greece, Italy, and Ecuador. She wants to go back to South America and has always wanted to go to Eastern Europe.
