Anybody here had it? Friends or relatives? My vision is the fucking pits but I'm gun-shy....

my mom has had it done twice and says its still fucked up though.. BUT shes insane... and smokes... so her opinion on health shit is fucked...

So that means you've looked into it, Zen? What do you know? Why do you think it's a waste, GF? In the mid-90's , there was a ton of recovery time and not everybody was a candidate. We've got a famous franchise her (Lasik) and a new one that is almost twice the price. My buddy went to the new one (he tattoos and depends on his vision) and said it was the best decision he ever made.
That said, it's still pretty new technology. My eyesight has really deteriorated.( i just turned 40). I'm also hoping to get my first fight this spring and am concerned I won't pass the physical because of my vision.

I had iLasik about three years ago, which is the scalpel-less version. It was painless. I drove to a hotel and the clinic picked me up. They brought me back to the hotel and I spent the night and drove myself home the next day.

It was life-changing. My distance vision was shit, and they warn that your near vision will suffer after the procedure. It did a little bit but I still don't need reading glasses. For a couple of months I saw a "spirograph" pattern around headlights at night but that went away, and after a year my vision was better than it had ever been.

It is well worth the money and the risks are minimal unless you have other complicating factors (which a competent doctor would point out).

Go for it!

A friend had hers done there...it cost about $2,000 USD a few years ago. A better value than the US, plus, since it's Montreal, you can enjoy the company of astonishingly hot, dirt-cheap whores while you recover.

I had the same experience as Bornyo. Worth every penny for work and baseball. Seeing is fun!

I am considering the lasik surgery. I will probably have a collection of Fossil sunglasses that will be bought from eBay on the cheap.

They were more expensive but promised (and did) a lot more than Lasik up here. Any headaches?

My brother did it about 5 yrs ago and reports no problems.
But I just can't get comfortable with laser and eye going together. I'd be fearing murphy's law in my case as well.

I initially read that as "orangutan".

Not quite the same but I had cataracts removed by laser 3 years ago. I threw away my glasses afterwards. The implants are great.

My MIL had it and she's so happy that she can now see out of it perfectly.
